Sunday night at the Grammys, composer Christopher Yin earned a statue for
"Baba Yetu," a song featured in the opening credits of Civilization IV. Yin's song,
which features a choir singing the Lord's Prayer in Swahili, snagged the
Grammy for the Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s).
The award is for the song as written for Yin's album "Calling All Dawns,"
but the song was written for the opening credits of Civilization IV, which
was released in 2005. That makes "Baba Yetu" the first video game song to ever
win a Grammy.
